17 more people from Telangana stranded in Sudan return home

Hyderabad, April 28 (). 17 more people from Telangana stranded in trouble-torn Sudan have returned to India safely. With this, a total of 31 people from Telangana have returned home.

17 people from Telangana reached Delhi’s Palam Air Force Station on Friday as part of Operation Cauvery launched by the Government of India.

He was received by Gaurav Uppal, Resident Commissioner, Telangana Bhavan. Some of these people were sent to Hyderabad or other places of origin through a help desk set up at the Delhi airport.

While some others were given temporary accommodation at Telangana Bhavan. The Telangana government also made arrangements for accommodation and food for the people who reached Mumbai on Thursday. All of them reached Hyderabad on Friday.

Apart from the control room at Telangana Bhawan in Delhi, help desks have been set up at Delhi and Mumbai airports by the state government to help those returning from Sudan.

The Resident Commissioner is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi to identify those stranded in Sudan and make arrangements to bring them back.

Around 3,000 Indians are reported to be stranded in Sudan following clashes between the country’s army and paramilitary forces a few days ago.
