Natasimha Balakrishna, celebrated for his dynamic screen presence and extensive fan base, has reportedly turned down an invitation to join Rajinikanth in Jailer 2. The filmmakers sought the Telugu superstar for a significant and memorable role in the eagerly awaited sequel directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, but negotiations ultimately fell apart. Sources indicate that Balakrishna was initially intrigued by the part and engaged in thorough discussions with director Nelson. However, creative differences soon surfaced when the Akhanda star requested a more substantial role with increased screen time. Furthermore, reports indicate that Balakrishna sought a considerably higher salary than what was initially offered, resulting in a deadlock.
Consequently, the filmmakers opted to eliminate the character entirely rather than find a replacement, thus confirming Balakrishna’s departure from the film. This news has disappointed fans who were excited about the prospect of seeing Rajinikanth and Balakrishna share the screen for the first time. Balakrishna, who typically shuns cameo or ensemble roles, remains focused on delivering solo hits. He is currently engaged in Akhanda Thaandavam, directed by Boyapati Srinu, marking their fourth collaboration after previous successes. This high-energy entertainer is set for a significant release on December 5, 2025, and is anticipated to feature Balakrishna in another commanding role that will resonate with his devoted followers.
