Dulquer Salmaan’s eagerly awaited period drama Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, is scheduled for a significant release on November 14. Featuring Dulquer alongside Rana Daggubati and Samuthirakani, the film stars Bhagyashree Borse as the lead female character. Produced jointly by Dulquer’s Wayfare Films Private Limited and Rana’s Spirit Media, the teaser, trailer, and songs have already created considerable excitement. Bhagyashree expressed her enthusiasm, describing Kaantha as a “special and performance-driven” film. “It’s a dream opportunity for a newcomer to share the screen with Dulquer garu and Rana garu,” she shared. Portraying the character ‘Kumari’, she mentioned that she extensively prepared to embody the essence of the 1960s, taking cues from iconic actresses Savitri and Sridevi.
She praised director Selvamani Selvaraj for creating a “beautifully written and emotionally rich” character and acknowledged her co-star Rana for his dedication to cinema. “He constantly discusses films, and I’ve gained so much knowledge from him,” she remarked. Describing the shooting experience as “positive and collaborative,” Bhagyashree noted that the team functioned like a family. She also acknowledged the producers for their grand vision and commitment to excellence. Looking ahead, the actress shared her enthusiasm for her future Telugu and Hindi projects while emphasizing her strong connection to Telugu cinema. “After Kaantha, I hope audiences will recognize me as a performer, not merely a commercial actress,” she concluded.
