New Delhi, May 27 (). In a latest development related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recovered an audio recording from the mobile phone of AAP national secretary Mahendra Chowdhary. In this, he is allegedly directing accused Vijay Nair not to reveal the correct facts to the investigating agencies.
The ED has alleged that AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak had instructed Chowdhary to brief Nair on how to respond to probe agencies.
Sources said this is the most important evidence which establishes that a deep-rooted conspiracy was hatched by the accused.
AAP national secretary Chowdhary reportedly had a telephonic conversation with Nair, during which Chowdhary could be heard instructing Nair not to reveal the facts, sources said. Nair has been asked to join the probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
It is being said in the audio that we will tell the correct facts, but only in those lines which we have to do. And if you (Nair) think that we should not disclose things, make up your mind not to disclose. They (CBI/ED) can ask you twenty types of questions. It is said in the recording that they ask questions but do not tell the correct facts, even we have to lie.
Chowdhary was also summoned in the matter and his statement was recorded. His mobile phone was seized by the investigating agencies, and the recording was retrieved later.
The ED’s case is based on the CBI’s FIR.
The ED has so far filed four chargesheets, one main chargesheet and three supplementary chargesheets in this case.
There is a preparation to file another supplementary charge sheet in this case.
