UPES awarded Acharya Balkrishna with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree during the 23rd convocation of its School of Business. Acharya Balkrishna, General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth, was welcomed by the university’s management, students, and faculty upon his arrival. In his address, he emphasized that continuity in service, dedication, and engagement are key strengths. He noted that Patanjali, under the guidance of revered Swami Ji, is involved in global service initiatives due to the hard work of countless associates. This recognition motivates them to enhance their service efforts. UPES Vice Chancellor Dr. Ram Sharma commended Acharya Balkrishna’s commitment and selflessness, encouraging graduates to draw inspiration from him as they embark on their new journeys.
He highlighted that Acharya Balkrishna’s leadership has positioned the Patanjali model as a premier business model in India, fostering customer trust in line with Indian traditions. Many of the country’s top entrepreneurs are now inspired by this model. Acharya Balkrishna expressed gratitude to the university’s Chancellor, Dr. Sunil Roy, Vice Chancellor Dr. Ram Sharma, Vice Chancellor Dr. Jai Shankar, Registrar Prof. Manish Madan, Director of the School of Business Prof. Rahul Nainwal, Dean of Research Dr. Ashwini Nangia, and MD of Schlumberger Mr. Lalit Agarwal, along with the Academic Council, Governing Body, and students for this honor.
