Investigations have unveiled associations with the Indian Mujahideen, financial misconduct by the university’s founder, and continued examination by national agencies. Al Falah University and its proprietor are under investigation following a fatal explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort that resulted in at least ten fatalities. Security agencies have linked the assault to individuals associated with the university, including faculty members with prior connections to terrorism. Authorities found that five accused doctors allegedly raised ₹26 lakh to fund terrorist activities, acquiring explosives and remote-detonation devices over a span of two years. Some suspects are still at large or thought to be overseas. Investigators have also identified connections between Al Falah University and Indian Mujahideen fugitive Mirza Shadab Baig, a former student.
The founder of the university is under scrutiny for allegedly generating over ₹415 crore in fraudulent funds, leading to enforcement actions and inquiries regarding the institution’s minority status. The National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions has requested an explanation from Al Falah regarding its status amid the ongoing investigation.
