New Delhi, May 28 (). All women wrestlers and protesters who were detained on Sunday have been released. A Delhi Police officer gave this information late in the evening.
Police have released women protesters including Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Sangeeta Phogat, the police officer said.
Sakshi Malik had told that she will go to Jantar Mantar and her fight will continue till justice is served.
However, the police had said that the protesters would not be allowed to return to Jantar Mantar.
Earlier in the day, Olympian wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Sangeeta Phogat were detained by the Delhi Police when they tried to march towards the newly built Parliament House. They were taken to three different places in the city, so that there could be no contact between the three.
The police have thrown away their tarpaulin, mat, bed and all the belongings hanging at the protest site at Jantar Mantar.
