Guwahati, April 3 (). Hitting back at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor to stop lying on the land of Maa Kamakhya.
The BJP leader’s reaction came after Kejriwal addressed a rally here on Sunday, criticizing the Assam chief minister on several issues, including employment, saying he had provided around 12 lakh jobs to youth in Delhi.
Sarma said, how the Delhi Chief Minister is boasting that he has given 12 lakh jobs to the unemployed youth in Delhi, while the total sanctioned posts under the Delhi government are around 1.5 lakh.
He said, since lying on the land of Maa Kamakhya is generally considered a sin, I request the Chief Minister of Delhi not to do so.
The Assam Chief Minister also said, it was most surprising when Kejriwal claimed that no question paper was leaked in Punjab. Either he is lying or he is ignorant. A few weeks back, the Class 12 board exams in Punjab had to be canceled because of a question paper leak.
Terming his Delhi counterpart as a coward, Sarma said, “Kejriwal did not raise the fabricated corruption allegations leveled against me inside the Delhi Assembly in Guwahati today because his loose conscience would not let him get into trouble for lying.”
The Assam chief minister said he would write to Kejriwal to scrap the 12.5 lakh sanctioned posts under the Delhi government.
Hitting out at the Delhi chief minister, Sarma said he would visit Delhi to inspect the development projects being run by the AAP administration after accepting Kejriwal’s offer of a cup of tea.
The Chief Minister of Assam said, I have seen the ugliest slum in Delhi during the election campaign. Compared to Delhi, our Assam is heaven. About 60 percent of the people in Delhi are in hell. Nothing, not even water or electricity facilities.
The Assam chief minister also challenged his Delhi counterpart to respond in writing to his questions within 10 days.
