Electronic Arts (EA) has unveiled information about the Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6. This mode will feature 100 players on a new dedicated map, allowing the use of vehicles and offering destructible environments. Community tests for the mode will commence this week. The Battle Royale mode will retain Battlefield’s classic gameplay elements. Players who registered for Battlefield Labs will have the opportunity to participate in the tests, and EA aims to collect feedback to refine the mode prior to launch. Significant features include a new map with tactical points of interest, vehicles including unlockable armored ones, and a structure of 100 players divided into 25 squads of four. Players will experience environmental destruction, enabling them to collapse buildings.
The game includes a flexible class system for squads, though classes cannot be altered during a match. Players will earn XP by defeating opponents and accomplishing missions. A lethal ring will instantaneously eliminate players upon contact, reducing the playable area. The game will also introduce five weapon tiers with various attachments, throwables, gadgets, armor, and upgrades, alongside optional missions for additional rewards. EA will provide more information following the testing phase. Battlefield 6 is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on October 10.
