Patna: Following the conclusion of voting in the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, exit polls released on Tuesday evening indicate a significant advantage for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with forecasts suggesting the restoration of a government led by Nitish Kumar. Surveys from Matrize–IANS, People’s Pulse, Chanakya Strategies, and Polstrat all predict an NDA triumph. A notable observation from the exit polls is the considerable downturn anticipated for the Congress and the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Poll Diary estimates that Congress is likely to secure between four and eight seats, while the VIP may not win any seats.

The Mahagathbandhan, spearheaded by the RJD, is expected to fall short of the 100-seat threshold, although the RJD is projected to be the largest party within the coalition. Analysts suggest that while the RJD might enhance its standing relative to other partners in the alliance, it is unlikely to replicate its prior assembly performance. Consistent patterns are evident across all four polling organizations, each indicating that public opinion leans toward maintaining stability under the NDA. These exit polls follow an unprecedented voter turnout in both polling phases, with participation rates exceeding those from earlier assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state. The Election Commission will announce the official results on 14 November.
