Patna, April 19 (). Five armed robbers attempted to rob a bank in Bihar’s Bhojpur district on Wednesday but could not succeed in their mission due to faulty weapons. Police has given this information.
Armed robbers wearing face masks entered the branch of Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank in Bitoli village of Shahpur police station area on Wednesday afternoon. They held bank employees and customers at gunpoint. Meanwhile, one of the robbers gave an empty bag to the cashier to fill the cash.
When the cashier refused, a robber fired at him, but his gun jammed. After this, another robber also tried to shoot at the cashier but his gun did not fire either.
When the bank personnel protested against this, the robbers fled from the spot. The bank employees immediately informed the local Shahpur police station about the robbery attempt.
We have registered an FIR against 5 unidentified robbers and efforts are on to identify them, said an official from Shahpur police station.
