Bihar's Strategy for Enhanced Skill Development Partnerships

Patna: Deepak Anand, the Secretary of Bihar’s Labour Resources Department, wrapped up a three-day trip to Haryana and Delhi from November 10 to 12, focusing on fostering partnerships in skill development and job creation. Throughout his visit, he engaged with industrial leaders, university representatives, and policymakers to investigate collaborations beneficial to Bihar’s workforce and training systems. On November 10, Anand toured the Hero MotoCorp facility in Dharuhera, Haryana, where he engaged in detailed talks with company officials regarding their potential involvement in Bihar’s forthcoming Mega Skill Centres. He extended an invitation to Hero MotoCorp to participate in the Chief Minister’s Promise Scheme, which includes offering internship opportunities to youth from Bihar.

The next day, November 11, Anand represented Bihar at the National Conference of Ministers and Secretaries of Labour, Employment, and Industry held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, which attracted attendees from various states and union territories. He highlighted Bihar’s advancements in ongoing skill development initiatives and sought opportunities for industrial collaboration and labour reforms. On the final day, November 12, Anand visited the Shri Vishwakarma Skill University in Haryana, where he met the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and senior faculty. He evaluated the university’s industry-integrated training model and discussed potential adaptations for Bihar’s planned Skill University. The university administration offered full support for knowledge exchange and capacity building.

Anand remarked that the trip represents a significant step towards establishing sustainable employment and equipping Bihar’s youth with industry-ready skills. The initiatives discussed are anticipated to strengthen connections between Bihar’s government, academia, and industry in the near future.
