Panaji, April 23 (). Congress leader and former AICC secretary Girish Chodankar has claimed that a BJP MLA in Goa specially took 100 people to Turkey to celebrate his birthday by spending around Rs 23 crore.
Chodankar tweeted on Sunday, Goa’s grandest 50th birthday is being celebrated not in Goa, but in Turkey! A BJP MLA has specially airlifted 100 people including businessmen, bureaucrats and well-wishers to celebrate his birthday. Cost Rs 23 crores. Beef item and great menu.
he asked in the tweet, Grand birthday! The 5 day, all-inclusive birthday celebrations expose the hypocrisy of the BJP. Beef is an election agenda for BJP4India which varies from state to state. Can PM Narendra Modi tell his mind on this hypocrisy? And where is this self-sustaining finance of Rs 23 crore coming from?
Speaking to , Chodankar said that soon after coming to power in 2014, the Narendra Modi government had announced austerity measures. However, BJP MLAs are not seen following them.
He questioned, though celebrating birthday is his personal matter, yet people should understand why crores of rupees are spent on such celebrations. Where does this money come from?
Former Goa Congress president Chodankar said that the BJP MLA’s business friends, bureaucrats and well-wishers have gone to Turkey in different flights. He said, I have confirmed this with my source and only then tweeted on this after receiving several calls.
People in Goa are troubled due to unemployment and many other issues, he said. But our elected representatives are not bothered. They are busy spending crores on their birthday parties, that too in foreign countries.
