Bengaluru, May 23 (). The son of a bus driver is also among the 25 young men and women from Karnataka who passed the UPSC exam. Son of a bus driver with the state transport company, Siddalingappa K. Pujar has secured 589th rank in the Civil Services Examination, 2022.
Siddalingappa, who hails from Annigeri town near Dharwad, comes from a poor background and took his exams through Kannada medium. His mother Shantavva said she had no idea about her son appearing for the UPSC exam.
He said, I did not know that he had given the UPSC exam. I am proud that he passed the extremely difficult exam and made Dharwad district proud.
Siddalingappa’s father, a bus driver, said, “We never thought that he was doing a job and studying so well.” We could not help him due to lack of money, yet he achieved a feat. I am proud of my son. I work in a farm and drive a transport corporation bus.
Siddalingappa has completed BE (Electronics) and working in a private company in Bengaluru. He was married last year, lives in Bangalore.
Yalagoresha Arjun Nayak of Vijayapura has secured 809th rank. He is a resident of Tanda near Sarora in Muddebihal taluk. His late father worked as an LIC agent and mother is a homemaker. He has two brothers, three sisters.
