On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet sanctioned a 3 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners. This adjustment in DA is timely, coinciding with upcoming festivals like Dasara and Diwali. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw indicated that approximately 49.2 lakh Central government employees and 68.7 lakh pensioners will benefit from this decision.
