Raipur, May 27 (). The situation has now changed in Naxal-affected Abujhmad of Chhattisgarh, famous for its dense forests. Now, the children here are going to school and an operation theater has now opened in the community health center of the area.
Abujhmad, located in Narayanpur district of the state, is spread over an area of five thousand square kilometers.
The opening of an operation theater in the Community Health Center of Orchha locality of Abujhmad on May 24 is no less than a dream for the tribals of this area. Interestingly, 30 patients were operated upon here on the very first day itself.
The community health center here was established in 1989, but in the absence of an operation theatre, the tribals living here have to go to the district headquarters Narayanpur or Maharashtra for operations. The operation theater was prepared in a record time of one month and the work was sanctioned from the District Mineral Trust Fund.
According to Rituraj Raghuvanshi, the then collector of Narayanpur, everything is available to the tribals living in the Abujhmad area as their needs are very limited. There is a market for them, they get ration, but it was very important to provide health facilities to them. With the construction of an operation theatre, the faith of the tribals there will be further strengthened towards the administration.
As soon as the operation theater was made operational, specialist doctors performed 30 operations on the first day.
Teams of doctors from Narayanpur and Kondagaon were called here to perform the operation. Operation CMHO Dr. T.R. Kunwar, Dr. S. Nagulan, Dr. Tina, Dr. Gayatri Maurya, Dr. Keshav Sahu, Dr. Sukhram Dorpa, Dr. Vallabh Thakkar and others.
Apart from Operation Theatre, new building of Community Health Center is also ready, where OPD facility will be available soon.
Operation and admission facilities will be increased in the old building, while a blood bank will also be opened in the health center.
Sonography facility will also be made available for the examination of the patients, which will facilitate the examination.
Maoist terror and geographical conditions make it difficult to provide basic amenities in Abujhmarh, but due to reduction in Maoist incidents in the last four years, many facilities are now reaching Abujhmarh.
The most important development for the Abujhmarh area was the Masahati survey. For the first time after 75 years of independence, a survey was conducted in this area, which will help the people of Abujhmad to get benefits of government schemes.
The survey was done on a war footing following the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
