Patna: Following his party’s impressive performance in the Bihar assembly elections, LJP (Ram Vilas) leader and Union Minister Chirag Paswan stated that the National Democratic Alliance’s significant victory was a result of a consolidated front that avoided vote division and sidelined the RJD. Speaking to reporters in Patna, Chirag remarked that the LJP (Ram Vilas) had progressed from having “zero MLAs in 2020 to 19 MLAs now,” claiming that voters had positively responded to the party’s reintegration into the NDA. “We were not part of the NDA in 2020, which caused a fractured alliance that benefited the RJD. The people of Bihar have consistently rejected the RJD since 2005 as they do not desire the return of Jungleraj.
This time, with our party aligned with the NDA, the public demonstrated overwhelming support. The RJD has faced a total defeat; their M-Y formula has proven ineffective,” he stated. Chirag highlighted that his party was given 16 seats in areas where the NDA had previously lost, yet all its candidates triumphed—including three additional wins. “I take pride in our capable candidates who achieved success in all those constituencies,” he noted. Earlier, Chirag met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to commend him on the NDA’s results. He mentioned that discussions also revolved around the establishment of the next government.
When asked if Nitish would resume the role of chief minister, Chirag indicated that the decision was up to the newly elected legislators but expressed his personal support for Nitish ji to continue as CM.
