Hyderabad, May 26 (). Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet Telangana CM KCR to seek support against the central government’s ordinance on the service matter.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader tweeted on Friday that he would seek the support of Telangana Chief Minister KCR against the unconstitutional and undemocratic ordinance passed by the BJP government against the orders of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court recently passed an order giving the Delhi government the power to make laws and post or transfer bureaucrats.
On May 11, a 5-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court, in a unanimous judgment, had said that the Delhi government has legislative and executive powers over administrative services in the national capital.
CM Kejriwal along with other AAP leaders will urge Bharat Rashtra Samithi President and Telangana Chief Minister KCR to support the party against the ordinance. As per media reports, CM Kejriwal will also request the BRS to oppose the bill to be brought in Parliament by the Modi government to replace the ordinance.
The meeting with KCR will be the latest in a series of meetings of AAP leaders with leaders of various opposition parties in different states. Kejriwal has also sought time from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Rahul Gandhi to get Congress support in Parliament.
CM Kejriwal had met Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on May 25 in Mumbai to garner support from Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar. AAP leaders also met Shiv Sena UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray.
CM Kejriwal had earlier gone to Kolkata to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He assured them that when the Narendra Modi government introduces the bill in Parliament, the Trinamool Congress will oppose it.
