New Delhi / Guwahati, April 17 (). Indian Army is conducting its first Online Common Entrance Test for Agniveer Recruitment across the country. Officials gave this information on Monday.
This marks a major change in the recruitment processes of the Indian Army.
Army PRO in Guwahati, Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said, the technological threshold in the country has improved significantly and with increased digital awareness, youth are now empowered to take online exams.
According to an official release, from this year the recruitment will be done in three phases. In phase one, all the candidates will go through the online Common Entrance Test.
In phase two, shortlisted candidates will be called for recruitment rallies for Physical Fitness Test and Physical Measurement Test at the venues decided by the respective Army Recruiting Office.
Finally, the selected candidates will have to undergo medical test in the third stage, said the official statement. Thereafter, the final merit list of successful candidates will be declared.
The online Common Entrance Test is being conducted at 375 examination centers at 176 locations across India from April 17 to April 26.
In the Northeast, the exams are being conducted at 26 centers in 14 cities. These include Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur in Assam, Imphal, Ukhrul and Churachandpur in Manipur, Shillong in Meghalaya, Aizawl in Mizoram, Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland and Agartala in Tripura.
