Kolar, April 30 (). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, on the second day of his tour of poll-bound Karnataka, targeted the Congress, calling the Congress a scrap engine.
Addressing a huge gathering in Kolar, the Prime Minister said, the scrap engine of the Congress cannot ensure development. Rapid development can be ensured only with double engine government of BJP.
Prime Minister Modi said, I am waging a war against corruption. The most affected and agitated by this are the leaders of the Congress party. They cannot tolerate this and are threatening me.
He said that they should have discussed about development, instead they are discussing about snake and its poison.
He said, I am not sad about it. The snake rests gracefully on the neck of Lord Shiva (Hindu deity). I have found Lord Shiva in the people of this country.
I am happy to be a snake on your (people’s) neck,’ he appealed to the people, apparently referring to the AICC. You are like Shiva to me. Please bless me on 10th May to keep away politicians talking about it. Significantly, President Mallikarjun Kharge had called him a poisonous snake.
He alleged that the Congress party did not initiate anti-corruption programs during its tenure as every scheme of the party was mired in corruption.
The royal family has embezzled thousands of crores, he said, apparently referring to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Those who need to be in jail are out on bail.
He said, after coming to power, we seized more than one lakh crore rupees from the corrupt. We have taken decisive action against corruption.
The BJP government has built toilets in more than 10 crore houses in the country. He said that this has become possible with your vote.
