Kolkata, April 29 (). The CBI is probing the alleged recruitment scam of crores of rupees in West Bengal. A special CBI court judge on Saturday set a deadline of 21 days for the probe agency to show progress in its probe into the scam.
The CBI is yet to arrest the government employees named as beneficiaries in the alleged recruitment scam. For this, the judge has criticized the investigating agency.
The judge told the CBI’s counsel that the progress of the investigation in the court related cases, barring two cases, was extremely dismal. Is this a civil matter? How long will you be able to keep the accused behind bars in the name of investigation process? Take some concrete steps.
When the CBI counsel told the court that there was evidence of involvement of government officials in the alleged scans, the judge asked why the central agency has not questioned them till now after taking them into custody.
The judge told the CBI counsel that you are yet to tell who received money from accused persons like Kuntal Ghosh and Tapas Mandal. A scam like this would not have been possible without the involvement of government officials. Show your progress in the test over the next 21 days.
