Thane, May 1 (). The death toll in the Bhiwandi building collapse in Maharashtra’s Thane district has risen to eight as two more bodies have been recovered from the debris. Officials gave this information here on Monday. Officials said that both the bodies were fished out about 48 hours after the accident. The debris removal work continued for the third day as well.
Constructed in 2014, the building suddenly collapsed at around 1.45 pm on Saturday.
Officials said that no one is missing in this tragedy now.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of each of the deceased and free treatment to all the injured.
