Deconstruct Skincare, a brand that emphasizes a science-based approach, has officially achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title by establishing a new record for ‘The Longest Skincare Livestream’ through its innovative 24-Hour Dermathon. This marathon YouTube Live event featured 24 dermatologists and engaged 30,000 participants across the country, generating over 500,000 interactions in real-time, including 200,000 skincare-related questions, of which 10,000 were addressed live, marking a significant milestone in India’s skincare sector. The record was recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM after the successful completion of the 24-hour livestream. Designed as a nationwide skincare education initiative, Dermathon sought to provide expert-led guidance to anyone with internet access, reaching audiences in both major cities and smaller towns.
Over the course of 24 hours, prominent dermatologists such as Dr. Anupriya Goel, Dr. Neha Solanki, Dr. Aditya Walingkar, Dr. Radhika Trivedi, Dr. Devendra, Dr. Rashi Soni, and Dr. Videhi discussed various skincare issues, including acne, pigmentation, sun protection, ingredient knowledge, and beginner routines. Viewers were able to interact with the dermatologists in real-time via the YouTube Live chat, facilitating open discussions that mirrored genuine skincare experiences. Malini Adapureddy, Founder and CEO of Deconstruct Skincare, commented on the achievement, stating, ‘Dermathon has been a pivotal moment for us, not only due to the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title but also because of the remarkable engagement we observed nationwide.
The dermatologists played a crucial role in demystifying complex skincare science, making it accessible to everyday concerns. These discussions reaffirmed our belief that large-scale, expert-led initiatives can foster long-term trust in skincare, and they strengthen our commitment to integrating science-backed guidance into the evolution of skincare in India.’ Dr. Anupriya Goel, a prominent dermatologist and well-known figure on Instagram, shared her thoughts: ‘The 24-Hour Dermathon was a unique initiative by Deconstruct that united dermatologists to share credible, science-supported skincare knowledge on a national platform. Achieving the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title through this initiative conveys a powerful message that skincare education must be reliable, accessible, and grounded in evidence, rather than fleeting trends or myths.
The collective purpose was remarkable; witnessing experts collaborate for an entire day to empower individuals with authentic dermatological insights was both motivating and historic.’ Dr. Neha Solanki added, ‘Securing the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title made the Dermathon even more meaningful. The event conveyed an essential message about selecting products that are effective, gentle, and suited to individual skin needs, rather than being influenced by trends or fear of missing out. It was uplifting to see skincare enthusiasts and professionals come together to honor science-based skincare and apply expert advice in daily routines.’ The certificate was presented by Swapnil Dangarikar, Senior Adjudicator at Guinness World Records. According to Swapnil, this record was challenging to achieve and unique in its purpose.
By highlighting dermatologist expertise and emphasizing education over promotion, Dermathon addressed the misinformation that frequently surrounds online skincare discussions. It met the growing demand for trustworthy, science-based guidance, especially for newcomers and those in areas with limited dermatologist access. The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title recognition marks a significant milestone for Deconstruct, illustrating the scale and ambition of Dermathon and reinforcing the brand’s commitment to credible, education-focused experiences that influence skincare dialogues in India.
