Muzaffarpur: A troubling event occurred in Muzaffarpur on Sunday evening when a dog was seen wandering near S.K. Memorial Hospital (SKMCH) with a newborn’s body in its mouth. Locals witnessed this alarming sight around 5 pm, leading to immediate concern and outrage. Residents promptly notified the Ahiyapur police station, who arrived at the scene, retrieved the body, and transported it to SKMCH for a post-mortem examination. Eyewitnesses reported that the dog took the body into nearby bushes and seemed to scratch at it. Several individuals captured the incident on their mobile phones, and the video quickly spread on social media, although its authenticity has not been independently confirmed by local media.
Nearby shopkeepers indicated that the newborn’s body likely came from SKMCH before being taken by the dog. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway. “A dog was found with the body of a newborn near SKMCH. Upon receiving information, the body was sent to the hospital for post-mortem. The matter is being investigated,” stated Rohan Kumar, an officer at the Ahiyapur police station.
