Lucknow: The father of Dr Shaheen, a woman doctor from Lucknow arrested in connection with a significant explosives seizure in Faridabad near Delhi, expressed disbelief over her alleged involvement in such activities. Dr Shaheen, who was taken into custody on Monday, is originally from Daliganj, Lucknow. Her father, Syed Ahmad Ansari, shared with IANS that Dr Shaheen has three siblings. “My eldest son, Shoaib, resides here with me. The second, Shaheen Syed, was arrested yesterday. She completed her medical studies in Allahabad. My younger son, Parvez Ansari, whose residence was searched this morning, left the city long ago,” he stated. Ansari mentioned that Shaheen worked in Faridabad and was married to a man from Maharashtra.
“I cannot believe that my daughter was involved in such activities,” he remarked. He noted that both Shaheen and Parvez pursued medical education, emphasizing that he has not seen them in the past one and a half years. “I last spoke to Shaheen about a month ago, but I regularly talk to Parvez every week. I was unaware of Shaheen’s arrest. I last communicated with Parvez last Tuesday, and our conversations rarely touch on anything beyond his well-being,” he added. According to Ansari, after marrying, Parvez moved in with his wife in Saharanpur.
Reports indicate that Shaheen is affiliated with Al-Falah University and had a close connection with Dr Muzammil, a Kashmiri doctor arrested after authorities recovered 2,900 kg of explosives and flammable materials from his rented accommodations in Faridabad. Officials indicated that information from Muzammil led the Faridabad Police to recover a Swift car owned by a woman doctor at Al-Falah Hospital, along with a seized Kalashnikov assault rifle from the vehicle.
