Former Chief Minister of Karnataka Jagdish Shettar is not in the mood to bow down before the BJP leadership, said – will definitely contest the election

Bengaluru, April 11 (). The ruling BJP in Karnataka has released the first list of candidates for the state assembly elections. After which rebellion started in the party. The name of BJP veteran Jagadish Shettar, a six-time MLA from Hubballi-Dharwad constituency, does not figure in this list.

Veteran BJP leader Jagadish Shettar on Tuesday urged the party high command to reconsider its decision. He says that he will definitely contest the elections.

Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday evening, Shettar claimed that he had received a call in this regard from the high command at the last moment. He said that I am very disappointed. I have worked for the party for more than three decades and helped build it.

If they had informed me 2-3 months ago, I would have agreed. But I have already started campaigning and a few days before filing nomination I have been told not to contest.

The six-time MLA, who has tasted victory for the seventh time, is in no mood to accept the intention of the high command. He further said that when he asked me not to contest the election, I asked him to reconsider his decision, but I made it clear that I will contest at any cost.

I asked him if I was facing any anti-incumbency or allegations. I am sure they will consider my request. As per the report, the assembly elections in Karnataka are to be held on May 10 while the results will be out on May 13.
