A gas cylinder exploded inside a hardware store in Khetri, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, early Wednesday, resulting in the death of the store owner, Shankar Saini, who was sleeping at the time of the blast, as reported by police. The explosion occurred around 2 am, propelling the iron shutter of the shop nearly 60 feet away. Saini was discovered unconscious approximately 20 feet from the site of the explosion. CCTV footage capturing the blast’s severity has emerged online. Local residents described hearing a loud explosion and witnessing flames erupting from the hardware store. After being found, Saini was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police stated that his body has been placed in the mortuary of a nearby government hospital for a post-mortem examination.
