Panaji, May 30 (). Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant extended greetings on the foundation day of the coastal state on Tuesday. In his message, the Governor said, the socio-economic indicators of the State are very impressive as compared to other States of the country. Goa has one of the highest estimates of per capita income in the country, which portrays a healthy economy.
The Governor said that on May 30, 1987, Goa became the 25th State of the Indian Union from a Union Territory.
In his message, Chief Minister Sawant said that the day is an important occasion which holds great significance in the history of our culturally diverse and vibrant state.
In a tweet, he said, “Today, we remember the day Goa officially became the 25th state of India.” It is a momentous occasion that holds immense significance in the history of our culturally diverse and vibrant state.
On this Goa Statehood Day, I extend my warm wishes to every citizen of Goa. Let us celebrate this day with enthusiasm, cherish the rich heritage and promising future of our beloved state.
