HCLTech, a prominent global technology firm, has unveiled the third installment of the HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas program. This year, the initiative will allocate $1 million to three additional non-profit organizations focused on restoring biodiversity and promoting sustainability in ten countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and the U.S. The Americas program was initiated in 2023 with a pledge of $5 million in grants over five years to support scalable, replicable, and sustainable solutions to combat the ongoing climate crisis. Dr.
Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President of Global CSR at HCLTech, remarked, “The HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas has garnered significant interest from organizations offering innovative perspectives and local expertise in climate action. The variety of concepts and the enthusiasm behind these initiatives reinforce our conviction that collaboration and innovation are essential in addressing climate challenges. As we progress to the next phase, we continue to be dedicated to partnering with visionaries who are developing sustainable solutions for their communities and beyond.” To date, the program has distributed $2 million to six non-profits in its initial two phases, supporting inventive climate action projects across the region.
So far, the grants have enabled over 1,400 youth and educators, restored 88 acres of longleaf pine forest with more than 50,000 trees, and motivated over 1,000 students to create sustainable community designs. HCLTech has received consistent recognition for its sustainability efforts, including a ‘Gold’ award for advanced sustainability performance from EcoVadis, inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2024 for the third consecutive year, and achieving a 98% ‘Platinum’ rating for its owned facilities from the Green Building Councils. The application period for this year’s edition is now open, starting from today’s International Day of Climate Action until January 24, 2026, for all eligible countries. The winners will be announced on World Environment Day, June 5, 2026.
