As of August 2025, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has established 119 public EV fast charging stations out of a planned 600 across the country, focusing on key highways, major cities, and HMIL dealerships. The network has facilitated over 2.3 million units of energy dispensed through more than 180,000 charging sessions for both B2C and B2B customers. This infrastructure supports India’s carbon neutrality goals, having helped to prevent over 1.6 million kg of tailpipe CO₂ emissions. Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning at HMIL, emphasized the company’s leadership role in EV adoption, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative products like the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and CRETA Electric.
HMIL is expanding its EV retail presence with 542 sales outlets in 238 cities as of August 2025, aligning with the Government of India’s vision for mass mobility electrification. The reliability of Hyundai EV charging stations, with over 97% uptime, has attracted a growing number of users. These stations are strategically located along major highways and in urban centers, equipped with amenities such as coffee shops and restaurants. HMIL is prioritizing the installation of fast chargers, with plans for continued expansion through partnerships with leading charge point operators. The myHyundai app simplifies the charging experience, allowing users to discover, book, and pay for charging effortlessly. Additionally, Hyundai’s in-car payment platform streamlines charging transactions directly from the vehicle’s infotainment system.
To promote green mobility in Tamil Nadu, HMIL plans to install 100 fast EV charging stations, with 16 already operational and the count expected to increase to 30 by the end of 2025. Through innovation, sustainability, and a focus on customer needs, Hyundai Motor India is committed to advancing clean mobility in the nation.
