India and the United States have begun drafting a trade agreement after achieving a broad consensus during recent talks in Washington, as reported by a senior government official. The discussions, which took place earlier this month between representatives of both nations, resulted in a mutual understanding regarding key elements of the proposed agreement. “The trade dialogue is ongoing, and we have initiated work on the final wording of the agreement. There is significant alignment on critical issues, and a US delegation may visit India soon for further discussions,” the official remarked.
Additionally, during his trip to Germany, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal confirmed that India is committed to working with the US to establish a fair and equitable trade deal that benefits both nations. This agreement is intended to enhance bilateral economic relations and could facilitate increased cooperation in investment and technology between the two largest democracies.
