Amaravati, May 1 (). Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to apologize for the attack on Tamil superstar Rajinikanth by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders.
Naidu tweeted that the vulgar criticism of superstar Rajinikanth, who shared his relationship and experiences with NTR, is objectionable and derogatory. Naidu wrote, the lewd comments made by YSRCP leaders on a great personality like Rajinikanth, who is highly respected in the society, is hurting everyone.
The TDP chief said Rajinikanth neither criticized the actions of the YSRCP government nor said anything bad about anyone, but only shared his views on certain issues. Naidu said the Telugu people would not tolerate unnecessary criticism of Rajinikanth’s excessive arrogance.
Naidu told Chief Minister Reddy that criticizing a towering personality like Rajinikanth by his party leaders was like spitting on the sky. He said that Jagan should hold his tongue and apologize for what happened.
The Andhra Pradesh minister and YSRCP leader lashed out at Rajinikanth after he praised Naidu during the NTR centenary celebrations.
Rajinikanth had praised Naidu for his vision and the progress achieved by Hyderabad when he was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
Tourism minister RK Roja, a former actor, termed the superstar’s comments as ridiculous.
