Kalakshetra issue: Portal launched for students to file complaints

Chennai, April 22 (). The Independent Investigation Committee constituted by the Kalakshetra Foundation management here has launched an online portal for students and alumni of Kalakshetra to report cases of sexual harassment on or around the campuses during their stay.

Victims, and those who are aware of cases of sexual harassment, can register their complaints on the portal – www dot reachoutsupport dot in.

The chairman of the probe committee, Justice K Kannan, said video clips, mails, messages and pictures and other documents received in the portal would be kept confidential by the three members of the committee.

He assured that these would not be shared with the management committee members of Kalakshetra or anyone else.

It can be used only to confront persons against whom charges have been made.

The chairman of the inquiry committee also said that the names of the complainants and the victims will also not be shared with anyone associated with the management of Kalakshetra.

Justice Kannan said that anyone who does not have a unique ID to log into the portal, Justice K.K. Can lodge complaint in physical format through communication in Kannan’s office.

The Kalakshetra management has constituted a three-member committee comprising Justice K Kannan, former DGP Letika Saran and senior doctor Shobha Varthaman.
