Bengaluru, April 18 (). The BJP on Monday released the third list of candidates for the May 10 Karnataka assembly elections, fielding family members of three senior leaders amid resentment and rebellion in the state unit.
However, senior leader SA Ramadoss, miffed at not being given ticket from Krishnaraja constituency in Mysuru city, said he would announce his decision on the future course of action on Tuesday.
The BJP has announced candidates for 10 constituencies, thus finalizing 222 candidates out of a total of 224. The party has not yet announced candidates for the Shivamogga constituency, which is represented by former minister K.S. Eshwarappa does.
The party has announced the name of state general secretary Mahesh Tenginakai as its candidate for the Hubballi-Dharwad Central constituency, represented by former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar. Shettar has joined the Congress after being denied a ticket by the BJP.
The party has fielded Manjula Amaresh, daughter-in-law of senior leader Karadi Sanganna, from Koppal constituency, Manjula Arvind Limbavali, wife of former minister Arvind Limbavali, from Mahadevapura reserved constituency in Bengaluru and Katta Jagadish, son of senior leader Katta Subramania Naidu, from Hebbal.
The party has chosen its Mysuru district president Srivatsa from Krishnaraja constituency in Mysuru instead of senior leader Ramadoss.
