Lucknow, April 3 (). As per the health department data, the Covid cases in Uttar Pradesh continue to rise and the tally has crossed 400 with 69 more cases for the infection in 24 hours. The number of active cases on Sunday stood at 421, up from 71 five days ago.
Of the 421 cases, 49 are in Lucknow.
13 new cases were registered in Lucknow on Sunday.
Apart from Lucknow, other districts like Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad and Lakhimpur Kheri have also seen a spike in the number of Covid cases.
Abhishek Shukla, secretary general of the International Doctors Association, said parents should avoid sending their children to school if they have fever, cold or cough. This will prevent infection.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who also holds the health portfolio, said there was no need to worry and the situation was under control. We are fully prepared to deal with the rising cases, but people should also take precautions and follow the Covid protocol.
