Patna, June 3 (). The recent gruesome murder at Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy has shocked the entire nation. Such incidents are happening frequently in Bihar as well.

In Sitamarhi district, on May 30, a crazy lover stabbed his ex-girlfriend 12 times.

Sitamarhi police has arrested the accused who confessed to his crime. The victim has suffered serious injuries and is fighting for her life in the hospital.

Sitamarhi SP Manoj Kumar Tiwari said, as per the confession of the accused, he was in a relationship with the girl for the past five years, but recently he had started ignoring her and refused to marry her. Accused Chandan Kumar got angry and stabbed him several times. On Tuesday, we have arrested him on the charge of attempt to murder.

On May 24, in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district, an angry lover threw acid on the groom sitting in the mandap at his girlfriend’s wedding.

The groom Naveen Kumar has wounds on his face and chest and has been admitted to Sadar Hospital.

The relatives of the victim caught the accused Mithun Kumar and beat him badly and then handed him over to the police.

Akhilesh Kumar, investigating officer of Halsi police station, said, “The incident took place in Kakrauli village under Halsi police station area of Lakhisarai district.” The groom and his relatives, residents of Bhandaus village in Sheikhpura district, had come to Kakrauli for the wedding on May 24. Mithun reached the wedding venue with a bottle of acid and threw acid on the groom in the mandap.

In both the cases, the criminals had a bad mindset, Kumar said. There is also a kind of passion involved in such incidents and hence they do not hesitate to launch brutal attacks. They do not care about the consequences of the event.

Patna police on 30 May arrested an apparently psychotic killer who had shot three people on the night of 28 May. Two of them, including a UPSC aspirant, had died.

The killer has been identified as Shubham alias Nepali, a resident of Patna City Chowk area.

Shubham shot dead a betel seller named Sahil on the Bahadurpur railway overbridge. Shahil was shot in the neck and died on the spot. A few hours later, he shot a railway employee near Rajendra Nagar railway station with the butt of his gun on his head and fled with his mobile phone. Shubham had also shot UPSC aspirant Rahul Kumar Ojha in Agam Kuan area who had come to Patna to appear for UPSC exam on May 28. The accused demanded Rs 20 from him and when Rahul refused, he shot him in the stomach. Five days later, Rahul died in the hospital.

Subham alias Nepali also shot a person in Naubatpur area. The investigating officer of the case said that he was obsessed with crimes and killing people only for a few rupees. In the case of UPSC aspirant Rahul Ojha, Nepali killed him for only Rs 20.

Patna (Central Zone) City SP Sandeep Singh said, the accused is a drug addict. He had committed the crime in an inebriated state. It was the act of a serial killer who didn’t care about the consequences of the crime.

Patna’s psychiatrist Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh says, generally people have 25 to 30 mindset in the society. A person who commits sudden and ruthless crimes usually suffers from bipolar disorder. The exact cause of bipolar disorder is not known, but a combination of genetic, environmental, and altered brain structures may play a role in delinquency.

Singh said, the mood of a person with bipolar disorder is usually depressed and sometimes manic. It is very difficult to predict the mood of that person. Such a person usually has a double character. They behave normal in public and become violent against any particular issue or person.

He said, as far as incidents happening in Bihar are concerned, a large number of cases of drug abuse come before us. After prohibition, many youths and teenagers have become addicted to cannabis. Addiction develops polar disorder in such people. Before committing a heinous crime, they do not even think about its consequences. They feel that they are superior to everyone else.
