New Delhi, April 6 (). A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man who entered an under-construction house in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar area with the intention of robbery. A police official said on Thursday that the culprit has been arrested.
According to police, the girl’s parents were not present in the building when the incident took place on Tuesday. They had gone to collect their wages.
Taking advantage of their absence, the accused barged into the under-construction building and looted valuables.
The intruder then saw the victim and her 18-year-old sister alone and threatened them at knifepoint, the officer said. He then took the victim to an isolated place in the building, where he allegedly raped her.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
