MHA approves conduct of CAPF constable exam in 13 regional languages

New Delhi, April 15 (). In order to encourage the participation of local youth in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the conduct of Constable (General Duty) examination for CAPFs in 13 regional languages, apart from Hindi and English.

The question paper will be set in 13 regional languages ​​including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani. As a result of this decision lakhs of candidates will appear in the examination in their mother tongue or regional language and their chances for selection will improve.

Officials said the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Staff Selection Commission will sign an addendum to the existing MoU to facilitate the conduct of the examination in multiple Indian languages.

Constable GD is one of the major examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission attracting lakhs of candidates from across the country. In addition to Hindi and English, the examination in 13 regional languages ​​will be conducted from 01 January 2024.

The State and Union Territory Governments are expected to launch a massive campaign to encourage local youth to utilize this opportunity to take the exam in their mother tongue and participate in large numbers to pursue a career in the service of the nation .

The Ministry of Home Affairs is committed to encourage the use and development of regional languages, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
