Chennai, April 30 (). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday greeted the people on International Labor Day. On this occasion, the CM said that his government will always protect the interests of the workers.
International Labor Day is on 1 May. The CM said in a statement on Sunday that whenever the DMK came to power, it implemented various welfare programs for the benefit of laborers and the labor (labour) class.
The CM said holidays with pay on May 1, besides 20 per cent bonus for labourers, land for landless laborers and several other welfare programs were implemented during the rule of the previous DMK government.
AIADMK (AIADMK) general secretary and former chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami wished the people. He said that laborers should be remembered and honored not only on 1st May but throughout the year.
He also said that AIADMK leaders and former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa had run many welfare programs for the laborers.
