Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), May 23 (). About 400 coins of the Mughal period were found during the construction work of a temple in Nanauta area of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Police gave this information.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain said the laborers found the coins on Sunday night while digging earth to build a boundary wall at Sati Dham temple in Hussainpur village here.
He said that after getting information about this, the police reached the spot and took the coins in their possession.
Jain said that coins with inscriptions in Arabic were used during the Mughal period.
