Patna: Following NDA’s significant victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, vigorous political activity has commenced regarding the establishment of the new government in the state. Senior leaders from the BJP, JD(U), and allied parties have ramped up discussions on power sharing, Cabinet structure, and the swearing-in ceremony. Since Saturday morning, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence at 1 Aney Marg has become the hub for political negotiations. JD(U) Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, were among the first to arrive at the Chief Minister’s home. Shortly thereafter, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Union Minister Chirag Paswan visited Nitish Kumar for in-depth discussions.
Senior JD(U) leaders Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Shyam Rajak, along with newly-elected MLAs and officials, later joined the meeting. Sources indicate that these discussions are aimed at finalizing the Cabinet structure, determining portfolios, and preparing for the forthcoming oath-taking ceremony. After his meeting with Nitish Kumar, LJP-Ram Vilas leader Chirag Paswan attributed the NDA’s substantial win to the Chief Minister’s leadership and efforts for unity. He emphasized that Nitish Kumar’s visible support for the alliance—such as publicly showing his inked finger during voting—sent a powerful message of solidarity. LJP-Ram Vilas’ backing of the JD(U) for the Alauli seat contributed positively.
Chirag Paswan remarked, “Rumours of internal discord within the NDA were politically motivated, and the landslide victory itself demonstrated the strength of the alliance.” He noted that the NDA’s win was a mandate for stability, unity, and progress, and expressed that the new government would advance with even stronger coordination. With all NDA partners expressing full cooperation and confidence in Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the final outline of the new government is anticipated to be revealed soon.
