Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has commenced his new term with prompt initiatives, catching officials off guard with an early inspection of significant development projects in Patna. On Sunday, just days after his 10th oath-taking ceremony, he visited Daroga Rai Path to evaluate the newly built flats for MLAs. This unanticipated visit occurred when most officials were absent, instilling a sense of urgency within the administration. During the inspection, Nitish Kumar directed officials to ensure that MLAs would not encounter any issues upon moving into their new residences. A total of 243 flats have been constructed for the elected representatives, which will be allocated based on seniority once the MLAs are sworn in.
The Chief Minister scrutinized the construction closely, raising concerns regarding maintenance and facility management to prevent future grievances. After assessing the MLA flats, Nitish Kumar proceeded to the JP Ganga Path project to review the ongoing beautification efforts along the roadway. He instructed officials to expedite the project while ensuring quality, highlighting the importance of timely completion and enhanced public infrastructure for Patna’s residents. His conduct during both visits indicated that development and administrative efficiency will be paramount in his new term.
This assertive beginning comes on the heels of the NDA alliance’s decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, where the BJP-led NDA claimed 202 out of 243 seats, with the BJP securing 89 seats, JDU 85, LJP 10, HAM 5, and RLSP 4. Nitish Kumar and 26 ministers were sworn in at Gandhi Maidan on November 20th, marking his 10th term as Chief Minister. His proactive inspections suggest a direct and performance-oriented governance style moving forward.
