Odisha / New Delhi, June 3 (). Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the accident site of the train accident in Balasore, Odisha and reviewed the relief work going on there. Apart from taking stock of the ongoing relief work at the accident site, the Prime Minister also interacted with local authorities, disaster relief force personnel and railway officials. He emphasized on a whole-of-government approach to mitigate this colossal tragedy.
It is being told that Prime Minister Modi called the Union Health Minister and Cabinet Secretary from the spot and directed them to provide all necessary help to all the injured and their families. He also directed to extend all possible help to the bereaved families and said that special care should be taken to ensure that the bereaved families do not face inconvenience and the affected get necessary assistance.
Before leaving for the spot, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation in Delhi by holding a high-level meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Cabinet Secretary, Union Home Secretary and DG of NDRF besides several other high officials including Railway Board member.
