OnePlus 15R Teaser Unveiled in India: Anticipated Specs, Price & Design

OnePlus is preparing for a significant launch in India, focusing on the forthcoming OnePlus 15R. The company has released its initial teaser for the device, suggesting that the official introduction is imminent. As with previous models, the phone will first debut in China as the OnePlus Ace 6T before reaching India and other international markets. The most notable aspect of the 15R is its processor. OnePlus China President Li Jie has confirmed that the Ace 6T will be the world’s first phone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a non-Elite version of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, reportedly co-developed with OnePlus. Notably, the chip includes a dedicated gaming kernel designed to deliver 165Hz gameplay without frame drops.

OnePlus has also secured 165Hz optimization for at least one major game—likely Genshin Impact—indicating that gaming enthusiasts are a key target audience for this device. The teasers suggest that the OnePlus 15R will adopt the brand’s new design language, featuring the recognizable squircle-shaped camera module seen on the OnePlus 13 series and the OnePlus 15. The device is confirmed to have a 165Hz display, reinforcing its gaming-oriented design. Rumored specifications include a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, providing flagship-level smoothness and clarity for both gamers and general users. Chinese leaks offer insight into the internal specifications.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset is expected to be paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, placing the 15R firmly in the flagship performance category. A significant highlight is the battery; reports suggest that the Ace 6T—and likely the 15R—will feature an 8,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging, possibly one of the largest batteries in a OnePlus smartphone. While photography does not appear to be the phone’s main emphasis, leaks indicate a dual rear camera setup of 50MP + 8MP and a 32MP front camera.

Additional expected features include a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, NFC, an X-axis linear motor, and various color options such as Electric Purple, Flash Black, and Shadow Green, with a special Genshin Impact Edition rumored for China. Considering OnePlus’ pricing strategy—where the 12R launched at ₹39,999 and the 13R at ₹42,999—a yearly increase of around ₹3,000 seems probable. With the new, more powerful chipset, industry insiders predict that the OnePlus 15R’s price in India will stay below ₹45,000, though a lower starting price appears unlikely. As pre-registrations for the Ace 6T commence in China, the launch in India seems to be approaching.

OnePlus fans can expect to learn more about how the 15R competes in the mid-flagship segment soon.
