Mumbai, May 13 (). Maharashtra’s opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and other parties on Saturday celebrated the victory of the Congress in the Karnataka assembly elections. The ruling BJP in the state has had a poor performance in this election. While the Congress has won more than an absolute majority in the state.
Shiv Sena-UBT president Uddhav Thackeray said what started in Karnataka will now continue in Maharashtra, where the BJP will be thrown out.
Further said that we have thrown BJP out of Karnataka, they will be thrown out of Maharashtra also. People have not supported BJP’s politics of violence and religion. Now it has been removed from the entire southern part of India.
State Congress President Nana Patole said that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has changed the political course in the country and it is visible in the results of Karnataka.
He further said that Karnataka has defeated BJP’s corrupt double engine of Delhi’s lies and 40 percent loot, bigotry, authoritarianism and caste-religion politics, misuse of ED, IT, CBI, filing false cases against political rivals etc. . Congress fought the elections on public issues like price rise, unemployment, rampant corruption etc., which have been accepted by the people.
Nationalist Congress Party’s chief spokesperson Mahesh Taapsee said that by electing the Congress, Karnataka has closed the doors of entire South India to the BJP forever.
By electing Congress with absolute majority, the people of Karnataka put an end to religion, caste, corruption and embraced secularism and development. It is a personal defeat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and victory of all secular forces.
Shiv Sena-UBT national spokesperson Kishor Tiwari said Karnataka is the beginning of the end of the Modi era. On the other hand, Shiv Sena-UBT deputy leader Dr. Raghunath Kuchik said that the BJP’s Lanka has been burnt in the entire south with the results of Karnataka, and its results will be felt all over India and in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. They cannot blame anyone else for their defeat.
Senior Congress leaders Ashok Chavan and Prithviraj Chavan hailed the people of Karnataka for their wise decision to reject the BJP outright along with the politics of caste-religion, money-muscle power and dictatorial attitude.
Ashok Chavan said that people wanted development, jobs, peace, security and inclusion. But BJP did politics in the name of God and religion which is purely personal matter. The public stood behind the futuristic manifesto of the Congress.
Prithviraj Chavan said that the people of Karnataka were extremely unhappy with the four years of BJP rule as no one cared about them. But just before the election, there was a flurry of big-bang mega-events and inaugurations, however, Modi’s charisma seems faded and tired.
He said that this would be reflected in the upcoming elections in the other three states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and would have an impact in the Maharashtra and Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
State Samajwadi Party president Abu Asim Azmi said the hate drama did not work and the people of Karnataka had cleared their state of communal termites. BJP grabbed power on the basis of lies and hatred and now people understand the difference between politics of division and development. This marks the beginning of an era of change for other states as well.
Congress state general secretary Sachin Sawant termed the party’s victory as a victory of the people of Karnataka accepting the divisive hate-politics of the BJP and the politics of love and inclusiveness of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.
All India Kisan Sabha President and CPI(M) leader Dr. Ashok Dhawale said that the people of Karnataka have given their verdict against BJP’s misrule, corruption and the communal agenda adopted by PM Modi himself during the election campaign.
