In Jammu, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, the Western Army commander, stated on Tuesday that while Pakistan lacks the capability to engage in a full-scale war against India, it may still attempt attacks similar to the Pahalgam incident. He emphasized that the Indian response, dubbed Operation Sindoor 2.0, will be significantly more lethal. Lt Gen Katiyar remarked that Pakistan maintains its strategy of ‘bleed India through a thousand cuts,’ and assured that the Indian Army is well-prepared to counter such actions.
He confirmed that the forthcoming operation will be more powerful than its predecessor, stating, ‘There is no doubt about it.’ When asked about the likelihood of future Pahalgam-type attacks by Pakistan, he indicated that these actions would persist as long as there is no change in Pakistan’s mindset. He noted that Pakistan does not possess the ability to wage a war against India and prefers to engage in underhanded tactics. Lt Gen Katiyar highlighted the significant damage inflicted on Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, mentioning the destruction of its military posts and air bases, but acknowledged the possibility of further Pahalgam-like attacks.
He reiterated the necessity for readiness, expressing confidence that the upcoming action will surpass previous efforts in terms of impact.
