Patna police are looking into a rapid and brazen robbery in the Gaurichak area, where thieves made off with nearly ₹15 lakh in cash and valuables in just ten minutes on Tuesday afternoon. The robbers entered the third-floor apartment of Roshan Kumar, a paint trader, while his mother was momentarily outside. CCTV footage reveals the criminals cutting the lock and entering the home, then methodically stealing cash, gold, and silver jewelry. Notably, the footage captured a moment of uncertainty when one thief initially ran away after hearing a barking sound from the security camera, believing it to be an actual dog. After realizing it was merely a camera alert, he returned and completed the theft with eerie confidence.
Roshan Kumar suspects possible insider involvement, suggesting that the security guard may have been in on the plan. “Three men entered the building, posing as electricians working on the sixth floor. The guard did not question them further,” he informed the police. Officials confirmed that three suspects, appearing as laborers, were visible in the footage, though their identities remain unknown. “Raids are ongoing to locate the suspects,” stated the Gaurichak station officer. The incident has caused alarm among residents of the apartment complex, who are already anxious due to a string of thefts in the vicinity.
