This forecast is based on data from the redBus platform, which compares bookings made during the festive period from October 15 to October 27 in 2025 to the same timeframe last year (October 25 to November 6). This data showcases a substantial uptick in intercity travel. Many individuals are preparing to celebrate with family or enjoy short festive holidays, with buses remaining a favored travel option, reflecting changing travel habits, popular routes, and demographic trends in these states.
Key travel predictions based on redBus bookings indicate the following: The busiest routes include Hyderabad-Bangalore, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Vijayawada-Hyderabad, Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam, Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada, and Hyderabad-Adilabad. The leading boarding points, predominantly in Hyderabad, are Kukatpally, Gachibowli, Miyapur, Ameerpet, and LB Nagar. In terms of preferences, 62% of bookings are for AC buses, signifying a strong inclination towards comfortable travel when planned ahead, while the remaining are for Non-AC buses. Additionally, 59% of passengers have opted for sleeper buses, highlighting the ongoing popularity of convenient overnight travel during the festive season. Regarding traveler demographics, 64% of bus bookings are made by male travelers, while female travelers account for 36%.
Furthermore, 43% of travelers originate from larger cities, and 36% come from small towns and villages, indicating a robust increase in festive travel across both urban and rural areas.
