Rohini Acharya's Video Provokes Debate, Calls for Action on Kidney Donation

Patna: Rohini Acharya has ignited new controversy with a recent social media message, urging her detractors to go beyond hollow sympathy and take meaningful steps in favor of kidney donation. In her message, Acharya criticized those who disparage the daughter who donated a kidney to her father, Lalu Prasad, challenging them to engage in a public debate with the young woman on an open platform. She questioned the reliability of critics who condemn the action while providing no real support to the countless impoverished patients urgently needing kidney transplants. “Those who want to contribute in Lalu’s name should cease their false displays of sympathy,” Acharya stated.

“They should instead donate their kidneys to the millions of poor individuals who are facing their final moments in hospitals, and do so in Lalu’s name.” She also took aim at Haryanvi public figures, journalists, and online commentators who often criticize her, accusing them of advocating for kidney donation while being unwilling to take even simple actions like donating blood. “Those whose blood dries up at the mere mention of giving a bottle of blood are now giving sermons on kidney donation?” she questioned.
