SINGAPORE — Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), has announced the introduction of new flight services to Labuan Bajo, Medan, Palembang, and Semarang. These flights are set to begin progressively from December 2025 through February 2026, enhancing Scoot’s presence in Indonesia and providing customers with a broader range of travel options. Labuan Bajo, situated on the western side of Flores Island in Indonesia, is famous for its unspoiled beaches, stunning coral reefs, and vibrant marine life in the Flores Sea. It serves as the primary gateway to Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is recognized for its breathtaking views of nearby islands such as Padar Island and cultural attractions like Wae Rebo Village.
Starting on 21 December 2025, Scoot will operate bi-weekly flights to Labuan Bajo using Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. Medan, the capital of North Sumatra, is a lively urban center that provides travelers access to Lake Toba, the world’s largest volcanic lake. Medan is also home to cultural sites such as Maimun Palace, the Grand Mosque, and the historic Tjong A Fie Mansion. Daily flights to Medan on the Airbus A320 family aircraft will commence on 1 February 2026. Palembang, the capital of South Sumatra, is one of Indonesia’s oldest cities and is known for landmarks including the Great Mosque of Palembang and the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum.
As a hub for trade and culture, Palembang is celebrated for its vibrant traditional markets and unique culinary scene, merging historical significance with modern development. Scoot will launch four weekly flights to Palembang on the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft starting 15 January 2026. Semarang, the capital of Central Java, boasts a rich cultural heritage and Dutch colonial architecture. With notable sites like the Lawang Sewu building, now a museum and gallery, the Great Mosque of Central Java, and a dynamic culinary landscape, Semarang offers visitors a blend of Javanese history and cultural diversity. Scoot plans to initiate three weekly flights to Semarang on the Airbus A320 family aircraft from 23 December 2025, increasing to four weekly flights beginning 1 January 2026.
One-way Economy Class fares are priced from INR 13,500 to Labuan Bajo, INR 10,000 to Medan, INR 12,000 to Palembang, and INR 10,500 to Semarang, all including taxes. Bookings for the new flights are available starting today via Scoot’s website, mobile app, and gradually through other channels. Mr. Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer of Scoot, expressed pride in strengthening Scoot’s Indonesian presence with the new flights to Labuan Bajo, Medan, Palembang, and Semarang. He emphasized that these additions reaffirm Scoot’s commitment to enhancing its network connectivity in Southeast Asia and providing accessible and seamless connections to the wider SIA Group network through Singapore.
Scoot will continue to explore new opportunities for expansion and offer customers more travel choices and memorable experiences. With the introduction of services to Labuan Bajo, Medan, Palembang, and Semarang, Scoot will operate over 120 weekly flights to 15 cities in Indonesia by February 2026. The network will expand to 83 destinations across 18 countries and territories in the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe. To accommodate rising air travel demand during the upcoming holiday season, Scoot will adjust its network from October 2025. In Indonesia, from November 2025, flights to Jakarta will maintain a frequency of 28 times weekly, while services to Manado will increase from four to six times weekly.
Starting January 2026, flights to Surabaya will rise from 10 to 12 times weekly, Bali flights will increase from 21 to 28 times weekly, and Yogyakarta flights will grow from seven to 10 times weekly. In Thailand, additional flights to Bangkok will increase from 39 to 42 times weekly starting October 2025, and flights to Koh Samui will rise to 28 times weekly by December 2025. In Malaysia, flights to Penang will increase from 21 to 28 times weekly from November 2025, while services to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching will each grow from seven to 10 times weekly from February 2026. In Laos, flights to Vientiane will increase from five to seven times weekly starting December 2025.
